Access your complete payment history, download receipts for healthcare expenses, and track all charges in one place.

Accessing Payment History

From Your Profile

  1. Open the RoadL Patient App
  2. Tap the menu icon (three lines)
  3. Go to My Profile
  4. Tap Payment History

From Appointments

Access receipt directly from visit:

  1. Go to My Appointments
  2. Tap a completed appointment
  3. Scroll down to Payment section
  4. Tap View Receipt

Understanding Your Payment History

What You'll See

Your payment history shows:

Transaction List:

  • Date of payment
  • Service type
  • Provider name
  • Amount charged
  • Payment method (last 4 digits)
  • Transaction status
  • Receipt download option

Organized by:

  • Most recent transactions first
  • Grouped by month
  • Clear transaction IDs
  • Status indicators

Receipt Information

What's Included

Each receipt contains:

Visit Details:

  • Patient name
  • Date of service
  • Time of service
  • Service type
  • Service address

Provider Information:

  • Provider name
  • Provider NPI number
  • Professional credentials

Billing Details:

  • Service charge
  • Insurance payment (if applicable)
  • Patient responsibility
  • Tax information
  • Total amount charged

Payment Information:

  • Payment method used
  • Last 4 digits of card
  • Transaction ID
  • Authorization code
  • Payment date/time

Business Information:

  • RoadL Care contact info
  • Tax ID
  • Business address

Downloading Receipts

Download Individual Receipt

  1. Go to Payment History
  2. Find the transaction
  3. Tap the receipt
  4. Tap Download icon
  5. Choose format:
    • PDF (recommended for printing)
    • Image (for quick viewing)

Download Multiple Receipts

For expense reports or tax purposes:

  1. Go to Payment History
  2. Tap Select Multiple
  3. Check receipts to download
  4. Tap Download Selected
  5. Receipts combined into single PDF

Automatic Receipts

For Self-Pay Visits:

  • Receipt automatically displayed in app after visit completion
  • Receipt sent to your email immediately
  • Available in Payment Receipts section
  • Generated after actual charge (not payment hold)

For Insurance Visits:

  • Receipt sent after claim processes
  • May take 2-3 weeks after visit
  • Includes insurance payment details
  • Shows your final responsibility

Receipt Timing:

  • Self-pay: Immediately after visit completion (when charge processes)
  • Insurance: After claim processes (2-3 weeks)
  • Payment holds: No receipt (hold is not a charge)
  • Actual charges: Receipt generated automatically

Email Receipts:

  • Sent to your registered email automatically
  • Subject: "RoadL Care Receipt - [Date]"
  • PDF attachment included
  • Check main inbox and spam folder

Sharing Receipts

Email Receipts

Send receipts to others:

  1. Open receipt in app
  2. Tap Share icon
  3. Select Email
  4. Enter recipient email
  5. Add message (optional)
  6. Tap Send

Use cases:

  • Spouse or partner
  • Accountant for tax prep
  • HR for FSA/HSA reimbursement
  • Insurance for out-of-network claims

Export to Cloud Storage

Save to your cloud:

  1. Download receipt as PDF
  2. Use device share function
  3. Select cloud service:
    • Google Drive
    • Dropbox
    • iCloud Drive
    • OneDrive

Filtering Payment History

By Date Range

View specific time periods:

  1. Tap Filter in Payment History
  2. Select Date Range
  3. Choose start date
  4. Choose end date
  5. Tap Apply

Quick filters:

  • Last 30 days
  • Last 90 days
  • Last 6 months
  • Last year
  • All time
  • Custom range

By Payment Method

See charges per card:

  1. Tap Filter
  2. Select Payment Method
  3. Choose specific card (last 4 digits)
  4. Or select "Insurance" for copays
  5. View filtered transactions

By Service Type

Track specific care types:

  1. Tap Filter
  2. Select Service Type
  3. Choose from:
    • Home Wellness Visits
    • Urgent Care Visits
    • Annual Wellness Visits
    • Telehealth Visits
    • Specialized Services
  4. See all charges for that service

By Family Member

For households with multiple patients:

  1. Tap Filter
  2. Select Patient
  3. Choose family member
  4. View their payment history

Exporting Payment History

For Tax Purposes

Year-end tax preparation:

  1. Go to Payment History
  2. Tap Export All
  3. Select date range (e.g., Jan 1 - Dec 31)
  4. Choose format:
    • PDF Summary - Complete transaction list
    • CSV - For spreadsheet software
  5. Tap Export

CSV includes:

  • Transaction date
  • Service date
  • Amount paid
  • Provider
  • Service type
  • Tax information

For HSA/FSA Reimbursement

Health Savings Account submissions:

  1. Filter by date range
  2. Select relevant transactions
  3. Download as PDF
  4. Submit to your HSA/FSA administrator

Most HSA/FSA need:

  • Date of service
  • Provider name
  • Service description
  • Amount paid
  • Proof of payment

All included in RoadL receipts.

Understanding Transaction Status

Status Types

Completed (Green):

  • ✅ Payment successful
  • ✅ Receipt available
  • ✅ Charge finalized

Pending (Yellow):

  • ⏳ Authorization hold
  • ⏳ Insurance processing
  • ⏳ Will update within 48 hours

Failed (Red):

  • ❌ Payment declined
  • ❌ Insufficient funds
  • ❌ Card expired
  • ❌ Action required

Refunded (Blue):

  • 🔄 Full or partial refund processed
  • 🔄 See refund details in receipt
  • 🔄 Appears on statement in 5-7 days

Insurance vs. Self-Pay Receipts

Insurance Visit Receipts

When using insurance:

Initial Receipt:

  • Shows service was provided
  • Amount billed to insurance
  • Any copay collected

Final Receipt:

  • Issued after claim processes
  • Shows insurance payment
  • Your responsibility amount
  • Total you paid

Explanation of Benefits (EOB):

  • Separate from your receipt
  • Sent by insurance company
  • Details coverage decision
  • Reference when viewing receipt

Self-Pay Receipts

For credit card (Stripe) payment:

Receipt Generation:

  • Receipt automatically displayed after visit completion
  • Generated when actual charge processes (not payment hold)
  • Available immediately in app
  • Sent to email automatically

Receipt Content:

  • Full amount charged
  • Date and time of service
  • Provider information
  • Service type details
  • Payment method (last 4 digits)
  • Transaction ID
  • No insurance information

Payment Hold vs. Charge:

  • Payment Hold: No receipt (hold is not a charge, appears as "pending")
  • Actual Charge: Receipt generated automatically after visit
  • Hold converts to charge when visit completes
  • Receipt shows final charge amount

Refund Information in Receipts

Refunded Transactions

If you received a refund:

Original Receipt:

  • Shows original charge
  • Marked "REFUNDED"
  • Links to refund receipt

Refund Receipt:

  • Refund amount
  • Original transaction reference
  • Refund date
  • Refund reason
  • Expected timeline

Partial Refunds

For partial refunds:

  • Original receipt shows full amount
  • Refund receipt shows partial amount
  • Net amount you paid is calculated
  • Both receipts available

Monthly Billing Statements

Consolidated Statements

For multiple visits per month:

  1. Go to Payment History
  2. Tap Monthly Statement
  3. Select month
  4. View summary of:
    • All visits that month
    • Total charges
    • Total payments
    • Insurance payments
    • Outstanding balance
  5. Download as PDF

Useful for:

  • Monthly budget tracking
  • Insurance claims
  • Expense reporting
  • Financial planning

Troubleshooting

Missing Receipt

Problem: Receipt not showing in app

For Self-Pay:

  • Receipt appears after visit completion and charge processes
  • Usually within 1-2 hours of visit completion
  • Check email for automatic receipt
  • Refresh Payment History (pull down)
  • If still missing after 2 hours, contact support

For Insurance:

  • Receipt sent after claim processes (2-3 weeks)
  • Check email for receipt notification
  • Refresh Payment History
  • Contact support if over 3 weeks: (833) 762-3555

Solutions:

  1. Check email - Receipt sent automatically
  2. Refresh - Pull down on Payment History
  3. Wait appropriate time - Self-pay: 1-2 hours, Insurance: 2-3 weeks
  4. Contact support - We can resend: (833) 762-3555

Wrong Amount on Receipt

Problem: Charge doesn't match expected

Check:

  1. Visit type and service provided
  2. Insurance coverage details
  3. Any copay or balance billing
  4. Authorization holds (temporary)

If still incorrect:

  • Call support with transaction ID
  • Have visit date ready
  • Explain the discrepancy

Can't Download Receipt

Problem: Download button not working

Try:

  1. Update app to latest version
  2. Check storage space on device
  3. Try different format (PDF vs. image)
  4. Use email option instead
  5. Access from different device

Receipt Shows Pending

Problem: Transaction stuck in pending

For Self-Pay:

  • If you see "pending" - this is likely a payment hold (not actual charge)
  • Payment hold: No receipt (hold is not a charge)
  • Receipt generated when actual charge processes after visit
  • Hold converts to charge when visit completes
  • Receipt appears after charge, not hold

For Insurance:

  • Insurance claim still processing
  • Weekend/holiday delay
  • Bank processing time
  • Verification hold

Timeline:

  • Self-pay charge: Receipt within 1-2 hours of visit completion
  • Payment hold: No receipt (not a charge)
  • Insurance: 2-4 weeks after visit
  • Check status or contact support if longer than expected

Privacy and Security

Receipt Access

Only you can access your receipts:

  • Protected by login
  • Biometric security
  • Not visible to other users
  • Not shared without permission

Receipt Storage

  • Stored securely on RoadL servers
  • Encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Available for 7 years
  • HIPAA compliant
  • Backup copies maintained

Sharing Safely

When sharing receipts:

  • Contains personal health information
  • Share only with trusted parties
  • Use secure email or encrypted services
  • Never post publicly
  • Redact sensitive info if needed
