When you have a preferred pharmacy:

Required for Visits
Pharmacy selection required before:
- Scheduling visits where prescriptions likely
- First medical visit
- Urgent care visits
- Medication management appointments
Can proceed without for:
- Annual wellness visits

- Lab-only visits
- Follow-up consultations (non-medication)
Accessing Pharmacy Selection
From Profile Setup
During initial profile completion:
- See "Select Preferred Pharmacy" step
- Tap to open pharmacy search
- Choose pharmacy
- Save selection
From Profile Settings
After profile complete:
- Open RoadL Patient App
- Go to My Profile
- Tap Preferred Pharmacy
- See current selection
- Tap Change Pharmacy to update
During Visit Scheduling
If no pharmacy selected:
- During visit booking process
- Prompted to select pharmacy
- Must choose before completing booking
- Saved for future visits

Search by Pharmacy Name
- Tap Search Pharmacy
- Enter pharmacy name:

- Local pharmacy name
- See list of locations
- Select closest to you
Search by Location
Use Current Location:
- Tap Use My Location
- Grant location permission
- See nearby pharmacies
- Sorted by distance

Enter Address:
- Tap Enter Address
- Type address or zip code
- See pharmacies in that area
- Choose convenient location

Selecting Your Pharmacy
Choose Pharmacy
- Find your pharmacy (search, list, or map)
- Tap pharmacy to see details
- Verify it's correct location
- Tap Select as Preferred Pharmacy
- Confirmation message appears
Pharmacy saved:
- Used for all prescriptions
- Shown on visit details
- Providers see selection
- Can change anytime
Verify Selection
After selecting, confirm:
- Correct location (not different branch)
- Convenient to you
- Accepts your insurance
- Hours work for you
If wrong pharmacy selected:
- Change immediately
- Or before next visit
- Easy to update
Changing Your Pharmacy
Update Preferred Pharmacy
- Go to My Profile
- Tap Preferred Pharmacy
- See current selection
- Tap Change Pharmacy
- Search for new pharmacy
- Select new pharmacy
- Confirm change
Takes effect immediately:
- Future prescriptions to new pharmacy
- Update before next visit for change
- Previous prescriptions at old pharmacy
Past prescriptions:
- Already sent to old pharmacy
- Must be picked up there
- Or call old pharmacy to transfer
When to Change
Good reasons to change:
- Moved to new address
- Old pharmacy closed
- Better hours at different location
- Prefer different chain
- Insurance changed (network pharmacies)
- Better pricing elsewhere
How often:
- Change anytime
- No limits
- No fees
- Instant update
Pharmacy Network and Insurance
In-Network Pharmacies
For best coverage:
- Choose in-network pharmacy
- Lower copays
- Better coverage
- Easier claims processing
Check with insurance:
- Call insurance customer service
- Review insurance website
- Check pharmacy network list
- Some chains in-network, others not
Out-of-Network Pharmacies
If you select out-of-network:
- Higher copays may apply
- Limited coverage
- May need to pay upfront
- Submit claims yourself
Still works:
- Prescription still sent
- Can fill prescription
- Just costs more
Mail-Order Pharmacies
Cannot select mail-order in app:
- RoadL supports retail pharmacies only
- E-prescribing designed for local pickup
- Provider can manually send to mail-order
If you prefer mail-order:
- Select retail pharmacy in app
- Ask provider during visit
- They can send to mail-order instead
- Or transfer from retail to mail-order
How E-Prescribing Works
Prescription Process
During your visit:
- Provider determines medication needed
- Writes prescription electronically
- Selects your preferred pharmacy from your profile
- Sends prescription instantly
- Pharmacy receives immediately
You're notified:
- Text from pharmacy (if enrolled)
- Pharmacy may call
- Or check with pharmacy directly
- Usually ready within 1-2 hours
Pickup:
- Go to pharmacy
- Show ID
- Provide insurance if needed
- Pay copay
- Receive medication
Controlled Substances
Some medications require paper prescription:
- Controlled substances (varies by state)
- Certain pain medications
- Some psychiatric medications
Process:
- Provider notes this during visit
- Paper prescription printed
- You take to pharmacy
- Fill as normal
Your pharmacy still used:
- Provider provides paper prescription for your preferred pharmacy
- Or you can take to any pharmacy
No Pharmacy Selected
Proceeding Without Pharmacy
Can schedule some visits without:
- Annual wellness visits
- Preventive screenings
- Visits not involving prescriptions
Cannot schedule:
- Urgent care (prescriptions likely)
- Medication management visits
- Follow-up for condition requiring meds
If Provider Needs to Prescribe
During visit without pharmacy:
- Provider asks for pharmacy
- You provide pharmacy name and location
- Provider calls/faxes prescription
- Less convenient but works
Better to have selected:
- Saves time during visit
- Electronic is faster and more accurate
- No delays in medication
Multiple Pharmacies
Can You Have Multiple?
Currently: Single pharmacy only
- RoadL stores one preferred pharmacy
- Used for all prescriptions
- Change anytime for different location
If you use multiple:
- Select most common
- Ask provider to send elsewhere if needed
- Change in profile before visit

Some medications require specialty pharmacies:

- Select regular pharmacy in RoadL
- Inform provider during visit if specialty med needed
- Provider coordinates with specialty pharmacy
- Specialty pharmacy contacts you directly

Who Sees Your Pharmacy
Your healthcare providers:
- Providers assigned to your visits
- Used to send prescriptions

- Third parties

Troubleshooting
Can't Find My Pharmacy
If pharmacy not in list:
Try different search:
- Full pharmacy name
- Chain name (CVS, Walgreens)
- Address or zip code
- Phone number
If truly not listed:
- Contact support: (833) 762-3555
- Provide pharmacy details
- Can be added to system
- Or select closest branch
Wrong Pharmacy Selected
Selected wrong location:
- Change immediately in profile
- Or before next visit
- Contact provider if prescription already sent
- Can ask pharmacy to transfer
Pharmacy Closed/Moved
If your pharmacy closed:
- Update selection immediately
- Choose new convenient pharmacy
- Transfer prescriptions if needed
- Call old pharmacy about transfers
Prescription Not Received
If pharmacy says no prescription:
Check:
- Was medication actually prescribed?
- Correct pharmacy in your profile?
- Check with provider
Solutions:
- Provider can resend
- Check pharmacy by phone
- May be under review by pharmacist
- Allow 1-2 hours for processing
