Setting Provider Preferences for Yourself
Customize your healthcare experience by setting preferences for provider gender, language, and favorite providers. These preferences help RoadL match you with providers who best meet your needs.
What Are Provider Preferences?
Provider preferences let you specify:
- Gender preference - Preferred provider gender
- Language preference - Preferred communication language
- Favorite providers - Providers you've seen before and want to see again
These preferences are used when matching you with providers for appointments, helping ensure you receive care that's comfortable and personalized.
Where to Set Preferences
You can set provider preferences in two places:
During Visit Scheduling
- Set preferences when booking an appointment
- Preferences apply to that specific visit
- Can be different for each visit
In Your Profile
- Set default preferences in My Profile
- Preferences apply to future visits
- Can be updated anytime
Note: Preferences sync between scheduling and profile - changes in one place update the other automatically.

Gender Preference
Available Options

How It Works
When you set a gender preference:
- RoadL Operations Center (ROC) sees your preference
- Matching algorithm considers your preference
- ROC assigns providers matching your preference when possible
- If no matching provider available, ROC may contact you
Important:
- Preferences are requests, not guarantees
- Provider availability may affect matching
- Emergency situations may override preferences
- You can always change preferences
Why Set Gender Preference?
Some patients prefer providers of a specific gender for:
- Personal comfort
- Cultural reasons
- Previous positive experiences

Choose your preferred communication language:
- English (default)
- Spanish
- Other languages (as available)
How It Works

- ROC will match best available option
- You can always request interpreter services
- Preferences can be updated anytime
Why Set Language Preference?
